Collimator

The spectrograph is focused by moving the collimating lens. The lens is controlled remotely from the Motor Control software. The nickelfocus or nickelfocusp program is a useful tool for focusing the spectrograph.

The collimator can be accessed via a panel on the west side of the spectrograph. It should not be necessary for observers to ever access or touch this lens.
