Introduction

A premade Linux VM (with all of the required software preinstalled) has been created by observatory staff to provide a straightforward path to remote observing on Windows machines.

Pre-requisites

Most of the software pre-requisites exist within the virtual machine. You will need software to run the virtual machine. Some examples include: Note that some users have had issues with VirtualBox not working if Hyper-V was running on Windows 10/11. VMWare Workstation does not have these issues.

Downloading the Virtual Machine

The Virtual Machine is available here, and the instructions for running this VM are available here.
