From the San Jose International Airport, take Highway 101 South. Then follow the "From Highway 101" directions above.

From the San Francisco International Airport, take Highway 101 South to San Jose. Then follow the "From Highway 101" directions above. Allow 2 hours to drive from SFO to the Observatory.

Please note that Quimby Road is quite steep and narrow. If you wish a somewhat gentler drive take Alum Rock Avenue (Highway 130). From Highway 101 take the Alum Rock exit and head east. Turn right on Mt. Hamilton Road and drive 19 miles to the Observatory.
