THINGS TO BRING ON THE TOUR | ![]() |
Clothing | |
---|---|
Cool weather clothing (long pants and a sweater, sweatshirt, or light jacket) is
recommended even in summertime when the evenings can be unexpectedly cool and the
temperatures inside the telescope domes are often cooler than the outside air.
In early Spring and late Fall warm clothing is a must. In addition to a sweater and coat, a hat and gloves are recommended. |
Food | |
---|---|
Apart from the warm drinks we provide about half way through the tour, and two vending
machines (snacks and cold drinks) in the Visitors' Center, there is no food available on
the mountain. You're welcome to bring snacks or dinner.
If you bring food and plan to eat beforehand, please allow time to finish your meal before the scheduled start time. Alternatively, you can eat during the mid-tour break and/or during the history talk before viewing begins, but time is limited and food cannot be brought into the telescopes. If members of your group plan to stop and pick up meals on the way to the observatory, ask them to please budget extra travel time. |
