| Current Target Position
As soon as "Move to Target" is clicked, the "current target position" is set to
the value of the coordinates currently entered in the RA and Dec entry boxes. It retains that value
until new coordinates are entered and "Move to Target" is again clicked, even if the telescope is
offset from that position. (Entering new coordinates will not change the value of the current target
position until "Move to Target" is clicked".)
The "On Target" message is displayed whenever the telescope position equals
the "current target position". If it differs because of an offset, the "Offset from Target" message
is displayed. If the telescope is in the process of offsetting or moving to a new target the
"Moving to Target" message is displayed until the move is completed. (You may also occasionally see
the "Off Target" message displayed while POCO is moving the telescope.)
The value of the "current target position", independent of offsets or the state of the entry
boxes, can always be seen by expanding the display as described in
GUI Display Options. |
