Access Ports

Under construction

As an observer you will be concerned with primarily one access port, the wiring closet. It is where you will find a fuse that is the main fuse for the drive motor. If the drive motor doesn't turn on you will need to enter this access port to change the fuse. It can be found part way up the spiral stairs on the pier (see figure 1). Inside on the right you will see a wiring box in figure 2. At the bottom is the fuse (bus 3A glass tube type) and a spare is normally sitting on the top of the wire box (see figure 3).

For historical purposes you will want to know about the port on the side of the telescope toward the bottom. That is where a photographic corrector lens was placed. It has not been installed in many years (decades?).
