Using the Telephones on Mount Hamilton
Most of the mountain phones are AT&T Centrex lines. To call any campus numbers, or to make outside calls, dial 9 followed by 1-area code - phone number. To call SC campus phones, dial 9-1-831-459-xxxx. To get an inside line, dial 8-xxxx. Long distance calls should be charged to your credit card. Dial 9 followed by the usual sequence of digits you'd use for making a credit card call. If you make a long distance or toll call and cannot charge it, be sure to record it one of the phonelogs attached to the clipboards kept near all mountain phones. Local and other toll-free calls need not be recorded.
