Introduction
ShARCS (Shane Ao infraRed Camera-Spectrograph) is a near infrared camera designed for use with the Shane Adaptive Optics system at the Cassegrain focus of the Shane 3-meter Telescope. ShARCS is equipped with a number of different filters (both broad and narrow band), grisms for spectroscopic work, and a polarimeter. ShARCS has been in operation since April 2014 and utilizes a H2RG detector. Field of view is about 20 arcseconds and pixel scale is 0.033 arcsec/pixel. A summary of its characteristics are available in ShARCS_specs.pdf. Additional anaylsis of sensitivity and expected performace calculated by Srikar Srinath is available at http://www.ucolick.org/~srikar/ShARCS/. ShARCS can only be used in conjuction with of the Shane Adaptive Optics system and is available to the University of California astronomical community by subscription.Follow these links to: 3-m Time Allocation Policy
